Women's Missionary Union

The Women's Missionary Union (WMU) is an organization involving the women of Oak Grove that focuses on missions, both here in America and internationally. Each month the WMU financially supports four specific missions: Bro. Kevin Mullins in West Virginia, Radio Bible Class, Bible a Month, which supplies The Daily Bread, and Evangelical Mission Ministries. The WMU also subscribes to Guide Post for Alonzo (Jack) Crews, Jr., a former member of Oak Grove. The WMU also promotes three missions of the Tennessee Baptist Convention: Annie Armstrong to fund North American Missions at Easter, Golden State to fund Tennessee Missions in September, and Lottie Moon to fund International Missions at Christmas. Love offerings are taken church-wide for each of these missions. Monthly meetings consist of organizational business, call to prayer, studying of programs about missions and missionaries around the world, and prayers for missionaries and other personal prayer requests. The Oak Grove WMU is affiliated with the Weakley County WMU which meets quarterly. The WMU meets on the second Sunday of every month at 5 PM and is open for all ladies of the church to participate.
